Des Moines Man Stabbed, Robbed of Casino Winnings

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Police say a Des Moines man was stabbed, threatened with a gun and robbed of $500 he had just won at a casino.

The Des Moines Register says the robbery happened around 4 a.m. Friday.

The 28-year-old victim told police he was approached by three men, including an acquaintance who had been with him earlier at the casino. The men demanded his money and his phone, but the victim refused.

One of the men then stabbed the victim in the thigh and another pulled out a gun.

The victim handed over $500 he had won at Prairie Meadows in Altoona earlier that night. The victim says the three men fled, and someone drove him to a local hospital.
