DAVENPORT, Iowa - An inmate who escaped from a Davenport work release program in February is back in custody.

Authorities say Ohio police stopped Roger Clayton, 36, Thursday morning for a broken taillight on his vehicle.

They say Clayton left his job on February 1 and didn't return to the Davenport Residential Re-entry Center.

A judge in 2006 sentenced Clayton to 20 years in prison for charges including intimidation with a dangerous weapon. He was released to a halfway house in February 2012 but was returned to prison two months later after an escape attempt. He was assigned to the Davenport center in December.
