Cedar Rapids Police Investigating Thefts At City Wide Cleaners

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The Cedar Rapids Police Department is investigating two thefts at City Wide Cleaners.

According to police, at 5:25 p.m. Oct. 9, three men entered the store, located at 341 Edgewood Rd. NW. Police said while a clerk was assisting another customer, one of the suspects opened the cash register, grabbed the cash and fled from the store on foot. The suspects are described as a black man, 18 to 20 years old, with dreadlocks, wearing a red shirt and black vest; a black man 18 to 20 years old, with short hair and wearing jeans; and a black man with short hair wearing an Under Armour shirt and jeans.

A second theft was reported to police at 10:19 a.m. Oct. 10. On that occasion, two men entered the store and demanded money. No weapon was displayed, but the suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Both suspects were described as black men, 20 to 30 years old, 5'4" and about 140 pounds. One was wearing a white vest and jeans; the other was wearing a red shirt and jeans.
