Judge Sentences Mason City Bank Robber's Accomplice

The accomplice of a man who robbed a Mason City bank also has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Emily Francis had pleaded guilty to theft in connection with the Feb. 3 robbery of First Citizens National Bank. On Monday she was sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay restitution of nearly $5,800.

Last Monday Allen Penhollow, of Mason City, was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Penhollow had pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery and to false reports.

Authorities say a bomb threat was reported at a school in Mason City on the day of the robbery. The threat soon was followed by the bank alarm.
