ATALISSA, Iowa -- Two people with guns tried to rob a truck stop along Interstate 80 early Thursday morning.
Authorities responded to the Pilot Travel Center at Exit 265 around 5:50 a.m. when an employee reported the hold-up. Neither suspect got any money or merchandise, and no injuries were reported.
According to the Cedar County Sheriff's Office, the two suspects were both wearing masks and scarves, and both displayed handguns. The suspects left the area in a white full-size regular cab Chevrolet or GMC pickup, which had a tool box behind the cab, box rails and a large antenna on top of the cab. It's not known which direction the pickup went.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the sheriff's office at (563) 886-2121.
