LOST Money Going Directly to Flood Victims

By Daren Sukhram

CEDAR RAPIDS - Local option sales tax money will go directly to some flood victims in Cedar Rapids.

Wednesday, the Cedar Rapids city council approved up to $1.25-million dollars for flood victims.

To qualify, flood victims must meet a variety of specific criteria and already reached the maximum from Jumpstart assistance.

The city staff estimates that leaves only 50 or so victims eligible for this funding.
