CEDAR RAPIDS - In Cedar Rapids, the plywood is going up.

Lakeside Builders of Marion is in just its second day of a year-long contract to board up flood damaged homes in Cedar Rapids.

A home on 3rd Street NW is one of hundreds the company will work on through the winter months and into the spring.

"I think it's to keep people out. They've had problems in homes, even homeless. I think that's the reason they're doing it," said John Tudeen, Lakeside Builders.

Tudeen says boarding up homes is easier in some spots than others, depending on the extent of damage.
