By Becky Ogann

CEDAR RAPIDS - There's a new Steam Energy Assistance Program for Cedar Rapids.

The program is designed to help customers who paid high steam bills post-flood. To be eligible for this program, applicants must be or have been a steam customer of Alliant Energy in Cedar Rapids using either the Sixth Street or Prairie Creek plant.

Customers can start applying for the program Monday, up until July 31st. You can do that on-line here: http://www.corridorrecovery.org/jumpstart/steam/.
