CORALVILLE, Iowa - Hy-Vee Inc. is going through the planning process of locating another store in the Coralville/North Liberty area.
The Ankeny-based grocery chain received approval June 19 from the Coralville Board of Adjustment for two requested changes to parking requirements for a store and car wash at Coral Ridge Avenue and Forevergreen Road.
Hy-Vee, which operates a store at 1914 Eighth St. in Coralville and three stores in Iowa City, owns the proposed location. The preliminary plat has been approved by the Coralviille City Council and the city’s planning and zoning department.
Hy-Vee, should it open a store at Coral Ridge Avenue and Forevergreen Road, would be competing with a Fareway store in North Liberty and the Super Walmart in Coralville.
Hy-Vee has said the Coral Ridge Avenue and Forevergreen Road location was chosen to serve the growth in the Coralville-North Liberty area.
