CORALVILLE, Iowa — Innovative Software Engineering has teamed up with Geotab, a provider of global positioning system fleet management systems, to launch software that allows over-the-road drivers to comply with federal regulations.

The eFleetSuite includes electronic driver logs and driver vehicle inspection reporting required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The Geotab system with eFleetSuite applications has been tested extensively in the field and is ready for use.

Drivers using eFleetSuite applications use a computer terminal that has an Internet interface, which is used by dispatchers and maintenance personnel. The software automatically records driver status, calculates available driving time and facilitates the documentation of equipment defects.

Compliance documentation is available to managers real-time through the web interface and can be viewed, sorted, edited, and printed. Other features include driver time and mileage summaries, violations, log edit auditing and equipment repair certification.

Neil Cawse, chief executive officer of Geotab of Ontario, Canada, said the relationship with Innovative Software Engineering will provide added value for the company's clients.

"Our customers are able to completely eliminate labor intensive paper processes, and fleets can ensure proper documentation is available for critical items such as roadside inspection," Cawse said. "The offering not only improves driver safety, but also productivity, compliance, and overall fleet optimization."

Hass Machlab, CEO of Innovative Software Engineering, said the Coralville-based company's off-the-shelf eFleetSuite applications perfectly align with Geotab’s system.

"It brings a compliance solution to market quickly," Machlab said. "It has been our pleasure to work with Geotab to custom integrate our application into their existing system."

Innovative Software Engineering is a software development and systems integration firm providing business strategy, program management, systems engineering, software development and quality assurance services.
