Judge Orders State to Pay Promised Tax Credits to Film Makers

By Becky Ogann

DES MOINES - Iowa film makers are celebrating a small victory.

A judge ordered the state to pay up on a now suspended film program.

The Iowa Eye film company sued the state to get six and a half million dollars in tax credits promised through its film program. But Governor Culver suspended the program amid allegations of abuses.

A Polk County judge is now ordering the state to pay tax credits since it was approved before the program's suspension.
