DUBUQUE - Dubuque County's ISU Extension Director will lose his position due to budget cuts.

Iowa State University announced it will combine county extension offices to create fewer regional offices.

Dubuque Director Larry Tranel was originally hired as a dairy specialist. He tells TV9 that makes him ineligible for the position as regional director.

Twice in the past four years voters rejected a tax-levy that would have increased the Dubuque County Extension budget.
