Rosenboom Machine & Tool announces layoffs
SHELDON (AP) - Rosenboom Machine & Tool is laying off 64 full-time employees from its facilities in Spirit Lake and Sheldon.
The company announced the layoffs on Wednesday. Human Resources Manager Jack Scheurs says the layoffs are a result of the economic downturn. He says markets continue to be soft and that means customer orders are decreasing. Company officials say they don't believe any more layoffs are on the horizon at this time but that other steps, such as curbing overtime, maybe necessary. Company officials said 29 of the affected employees were members of the Sheldon work force with the remaining 35 a part of the Spirit Lake work force. The company says 461 employees remain on staff. The layoffs are effective immediately. |
