MIDDLE AMANA - Whirlpool officials tell KCRG-TV 9 that more layoffs are coming to the refrigeration plant in Middle Amana. This week employees were informed the company is seeking 150 voluntary layoffs by January 5.

The requested layoffs are in addition to 440 employees that were let go earlier this year. The company says unprecedented challenges and volatility in the marketplace, there is no timetable for when any laid off employees could be rehired.
