Will It Ever Stop Snowing?

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Waking up Wednesday morning, Chic Furneaux expected to find a light dusting of snow.

"I think we got a little bit more than that. Don't you?," said Furneaux.

Sure do! A lot more than that. Enough to cause hassles and headaches. But not enough to cancel school.

Dubuque Schools Superintendent Stan Rheingans said, "We try to be judicious with that and not over do it. But at the same time, we cancel whenever there is a safety concern. "

After a two hour delay students spent the rest of the day in class. The district called off it's previously planned two hour early dismissal.

"We cancelled that so we could get in a length of school day that made some sense,:" said Rheingans. "To have a late start and an early release. Well then there is nothing left."

Right now the last day of school is Dubuque is still June 5th. That's if it ever stops snowing.

"I am afraid it's going to keep going, " said Furneaux
