CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa-- While each year people give millions of dollars to childhood disease research, there is an important financial issue being ignored. Families who have children with a long-term illness find themselves coming up short on funds because of medical bills.
KCRG and KMRY Radio are partnering with Variety the Children's Charity for the first ever Variety Radiothon in Cedar Rapids. The money raised will go to help families with things insurance doesn't cover like gas to get to and from the hospital, food, lodging, and medications.
The Radiothon is Tuesday, November 19th and Wednesday, November 20th. You can call 319-378-6400 to donate. Every dollar raised stays in the local community.
