Police Use Lost Shoe to Find Car Accident Victim

WATERLOO, Iowa - A man who lost his shoe while fleeing the scene of a an early morning car accident is now recovering in the hospital.

Police responded to a two a vehicle accident at 2206 Ansborough Avenue in Waterloo around 2:30 a.m. in Waterloo. Police say the man left the scene and was found a short distance away. He was identified by a shoe he left behind at the scene of the accident.

Police took the ma to the police station before taking him to the hospital. The driver of the car was taken directly to the hospital. The names and conditions of anyone involved have been released.
