WASHINGTON, D.C. - Soon the 2009 inauguration will make its way into history books. But there are some young Iowans who are getting to see it all firsthand.

There are lots of people in Washington, however the crowds Monday are nothing compared to what will hit the city Tuesday for the Obama inauguration.

Among all these people are 15,000 very busy middle and high school students from around the country.

They're attending the Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference, and we caught up with two students from eastern Iowa. Jonathon Langenberg, a sophomore at Prairie High School and Kylie Willson, a freshman at Center Point-Urbana.

"Well it's just been a real experience learning about the different processes they go through for the inaugurations and how it's always has excitement, but it's different this year because it's historic," said Kylie Willson, Center Point-Urbana freshman.

Prairie High School sophomore Jonathan Langenberg talked about some interesting speakers at the conference, "Yes, we got to see Colin Powell the second night and Al Gore this morning. Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Lisa Ling and White House Historian Delores Kerns, so some very interesting people."
