Waterloo Police Arrest Two in Overnight Robbery

WATERLOO, Iowa - Police are investigating two men for an armed robbery at 5 Star Snacks and More in Waterloo.

Just after 11 p.m. Wednesday, witnesses say they saw Casey Lee Pierce, 19, of Waterloo, enter 5 Star Snacks and More on Sullivan Avenue. They said he was wearing a mask and carrying a 12 gauge flare gun. Pierce allegedly robbed the store.

Witnesses also said a get-away car was waiting outside. Police stopped the get-away vehicle a short time later at another 5 Star Snacks and More location at 315 Fletcher Ave. They arrested the driver, Michael Todd Gillum Jr., 20, of Reinbeck, Iowa. They later arrested Pierce.

No money was taken in the robbery and no one was injured. Gillum and Pierce are being held in the Black Hawk County Jail and are facing charges of Robbery in the First Degree.
