Waterloo Man Sentenced to Life for Murder

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) - A 23-year-old man has been given a life sentence for killing a man whose body was found slumped over the steering wheel of a parked car in Waterloo.

Montez Caples, of Waterloo, was sentenced on Friday. In November Caples was convicted of first-degree murder.

Prosecutors say Caples shot 34-year-old Robert Shannon, of Parkersburg, on Dec. 14, 2011. Shannon's body was found several hours later, after neighbors told police the car had been idling for some time.
