VINTON, Iowa - Vinton-Shellsburg sharpshooter Max Griffith is this week's winner of the KCRG-TV9 "Athlete of the Week" award, sponsored by Cedar Rapids Toyota Scion.

Griffith hit eight 3-pointers for his season-high of 24 points Friday night in the win over Clear Creek-Amana.

In the last three games he has shot 80 percent from the 3-point stripe.

In three games he has made 18 3-pointers. He is also ranked No. 2 in Class 3A in 3-pointers made.

In the video above, TV9 Sports Director Scott Saville challenges Griffith to a friendly competition, with the loser having to challenge strangers to lampshade basketball.
