Two Hospitalized in Cedar County Crash

Cedar County, IA - Two people were taken to the hospital after an early Sunday morning crash near Lowden in Cedar County.

The accident happened just after 4:00 a.m. when two cars collided along Highway 30. A 19-year-old was driving east when the car crossed the center line, hitting a car going west driven by 61-year-old.

Both drivers suffered injuries in the crash. The 19-year-old was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The 61-year-old was taken by ambulance to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Iowa State Patrol is not releasing the names of those involved at this time. The accident is still under investigation.
