Two Arrested in Waterloo Drug Raid

WATERLOO, Iowa – Police said they found drugs and weapons in a Waterloo home on Wednesday.
According to a press release, the Waterloo Police Department’s Violent Crime Apprehension Team and the Waterloo Police Tactical Unit served a search warrant at 525 Locust St. on Wednesday as part of a drug and weapons investigation.
During their search, officers found marijuana, money and other items used to sell and distribute marijuana. Police also found a Luger 9mm Tec-9 semi-automatic handgun and magazines and a Loracin .380 handgun with ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested Rodney E. Gary, Jr., 29, and Rose A. Rodriguez, 26. Both were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a school. The lived near Irving Elementary which is on West 5th Street. Rodriguez faces an additional charge of child endangerment.
Gary and Rodriguez are in custody at the Black Hawk County Jail.
