Trial Set for Man in Manchester Killings
MANCHESTER, Iowa (AP) — A trial is set for a man accused of suggesting killing methods to a teenager who's charged in his grandparents' deaths in Manchester.
Twenty-year-old Brandon Ahlers is charged with aiding and abetting in the shooting deaths of Richard and Janet Sweet. Their bodies were found in their home in May. Their grandson, 17-year-old Isaiah Sweet, is charged as an adult with two counts of first-degree murder.
Ahlers is accused of suggesting ways to carry out the killings and of trying to dispose of the gun police believe was used in the crime.
The Telegraph Herald in Dubuque says Ahlers' trial is scheduled for Nov. 14 in Delaware County District Court.
Sweet's trial is set for Nov. 7 also in Delaware County.
