DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) — The trial is beginning this week for a Manchester teenager charged in the 2012 shooting deaths of his grandparents.

The Dubuque Telegraph Herald reports the first-degree murder trial for 18-year-old Isaiah Sweet begins Wednesday.

Judge Thomas Bitter ordered the trial moved to Dubuque County from Delaware County.

Sweet is charged in the death of his custodial grandparents, 55-year-old Richard Sweet and 62-year-old Janet Sweet. Their bodies were found May 13, 2012, in their Manchester home.

Isaiah Sweet was arrested the next day in Cedar Rapids.

Authorities also accused 21-year-old Brandon Ahlers with helping to plan the killings, dispose of evidence and break into the couple's home.

Ahlers entered an Alford plea, acknowledging enough evidence to convict him, and was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
