Three Squad Cars Damaged After Chase Through Hiawatha
HIAWATHA, Iowa - The Hiawatha and Robins Police Departments could be short a few squad cars after a driver intentionally rammed into them during a chase through Hiawatha Saturday morning.
Bobby James Wolf, 31, of Waterloo was the driver of the vehicle. At about 11 a.m. Hiawatha and Robins Police Officers attempted to make a traffic stop for a possible intoxicated driver at Boyson Road and Interstate 380. After speaking with officers the driver sped away. Officers followed the vehicle westbound on Boyson Road to the intersection of Miller Road where the driver stopped again briefly. Wolf then intentionally rammed three squad cars before fleeing southbound on Miller Road. After a short distance the drivre was forced off the roadway and taken into custody. Two Hiawatha officers recieved minor injuries. The incident is still under investigation and additional charges are pending. Most Popular
