CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A large spring snowstorm delivering heavy snow, high winds and freezing drizzle is causing travel problems from Wyoming to Minnesota.

In Wyoming, a 100-mile stretch of Interstate 25 between Cheyenne and Douglas was closed Tuesday as well as a 125-mile section of I-80 between Laramie and Rawlins.

Conditions in South Dakota caused the postponement of numerous local elections and some schools in Minnesota dismissed students early. High winds, freezing drizzle and some snow is affecting parts of Kansas.

Snow in Denver has been lighter than expected, but around 500 flights have been cancelled there.

The storm could also produce tornados later in the day in Oklahoma and Texas.
