DES MOINES, Iowa - Former Republican Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum has cancelled two stops in Des Moines for today. The former Pennsylvania Senator was hospitalized this weekend for a gastro intestinal illness and dehydration.

Santorum won the Iowa Caucus in 2012, and has hinted at running as a candidate in the 2016 Presidential election.

He was scheduled to attend a luncheon at the John Paul II Medical Research Institute. This evening, Santorum was supposed to give the keynote address at the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition's Annual Spring Kick-off.
