By Larry Burkum

HUDSON, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say three people were injured in northeast Iowa after a sport utility vehicle crashed into a bus with only the driver aboard.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports the crash happened Friday afternoon near Hudson when a bus driven by 69-year-old Dale Bondy, of Waterloo, dropped off a farm crew, then pulled out from a stop sign and into the path of an SUV.

Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office Capt. Rick Abben says the SUV hit the bus, leaving 27-year-old driver Sarah Shrout, of Cedar Falls, with a broken leg. Front seat passenger, 21-year-old Kayla Watts, of Cedar Falls, received chest and back injuries.

A 3-year-old boy suffered facial injuries.

The bus had just dropped off a detasseling crew before the crash.

Bondy was cited for failure to yield.
