Prosecutors Ask to Combine Murder, Attempted Murder Trials for Waterloo Man

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — Prosecutors want to combine two trials for a Waterloo man accused of shooting his fiancee and killing her mother.

Kevin Ambrose faces murder and attempted murder charges when he goes on trial in January.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reports the state wants to consolidate that trial with a separate trial that charges Ambrose with unlawfully possessing a firearm at the time of the May shootings.

Assistant Black Hawk County Attorney Linda Fangman said during a court hearing Monday that the facts and circumstances in both trials are the same.

A judge will rule on the matter at a later date.
