WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - Olympic gold medal gymnast Gabby Douglas has left West Des Moines and Chow's Gym where she had been training for the next Olympic games. Travis and Missy Parton, along with their four daughters, opened their home to Gabby when she moved to the Des Moines metro several years ago.

Parton said today he's not surprised she left, just a little surprised by the timing. Just three months ago, Gabby got back into Chow's Gym to begin her training once again. You'll remember Douglas was the first African American female to win the olympic all around gold medal. But over the weekend, she decided to move to L.A. to be with her family.

Chow said Gabby left on good terms and came in to say goodbye earlier this week. He says he hopes to have her back.
