MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - An official says just one Cerro Gordo County computer was targeted and breached by a hacker in February.

In a follow-up report to the county supervisors on Tuesday, Treasurer Pat Wright said the hacker had a European Internet Protocol address and apparently focused on just the one computer. The Mason City Globe Gazette says Wright called it a "one-in-a-million hit."

No theft occurred, but officials say the hacker could have accessed county employees' personal information because many of them have their paychecks deposited directly into their accounts.

Wright says the county has hired a company for an analysis and to provide forensic services on another county computer.
