More Than 950 MidAmerican Customers Lose Power in Waterloo

WATERLOO, Iowa - More than 950 MidAmerican Energy customers lost power in Black Hawk County late Tuesday morning.
Tim Grabinski, with MidAmerican Energy, Media Relations said the power outage started shortly after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. It isn't immediately clear what caused the outage, Grabinski said.
The outage affected an area south of Highway 20, in an area around the Isle of Capri Casino. The Isle of Capri Casino in Waterloo confirms that the casino had to operate on generator power.
Power was restored to most customers by noon.
