Miss Iowa Richelle Orr Vying for Miss USA Crown

HAMPTON, Iowa - From the farm fields of Franklin County to the bright lights of Las Vegas Boulevard, Richelle Orr represented Iowa in the Miss USA pageant Sunday night.

Orr, 20, of Hampton, is Miss Iowa 2013. She's a 2010 Hampton-Dumont graduate and is currently a junior at Iowa State University studying event management. She's also on the ISU Dance Team.

According to her Miss America profile, in 2011, Richelle found a golf ball sized tumor in her breast and had it removed. Since then, she has grown a passion for promoting breast cancer awareness to young girls.

Orr did not make the round of 15 contestants.
