Police Investigating Bank Robbery in Marion

MARION, Iowa - Marion police confirm they are searching for a person who they say robbed a bank branch in the Collins Road Square Shopping Mall Monday morning.

The robbery at the Farmers State Bank branch, 1380 Twixt Town Road Marion, happened shortly before 10:15 a.m.. Harry Daugherty, Marion police chief, said the robber entered the bank and displayed to witnesses what appeared to be a small handgun. No one was injured during the robbery.

Chief Daugherty confirms police are looking for a white SUV that may have had a blue tarp coming out of one door.

More details are expected this afternoon.
