Man Drowns in Mississippi River

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Dubuque Police and Fire responded to a possible drowning at Miller Riverview Park around 3:30 Saturday afternoon.

Officers say people at the park pulled a man out of the the Mississippi River and tried to revive him. Paramedics took him to Finley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses camping at the park told KCRG's Dubuque Reporter Katie Wiedemann it happened around one p.m. They say his friends dared him to swim across the river.
