Man Accused of Wringing Four Kittens' Necks

SUMNER, Iowa (AP) — A 19-year-old man has been arrested, accused of killing 4 kittens by wringing their necks at a relative's house in rural Sumner.

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier says Sterling Medina, of Oelwein, was arrested earlier this week on four counts of misdemeanor animal abuse.

Bremer County Sheriff Dan Pickett says Medina was seen wringing the kittens' necks and then throwing the carcasses against a garage wall.

Bremer County Jail records say Medina remained in custody on Thursday, pending $4,000 bail. Medina's attorney didn't immediately return a call from The Associated Press.
