CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Thursday marks opening day for the Cedar Rapids Kernels.

The minor league baseball team is now an affiliate of the Minnesota Twins after parting ways with the Los Angeles Angels last year. This means a new manager, new coaching staff, and all new players on the field.

The Kernels take on the former Twins affiliate, the Beloit Snappers, in the first game of the season at Veterans Memorial Stadium. The game gets under way at 6:35 p.m. and those that can't make it to the stadium can watch it on KCRG 9.2.
