Iowa City Police Investigate Strong-Arm Robbery

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Police said an iPhone and a laptop were stolen during a robbery Saturday night.

According to the Iowa City Police Department, the victim was walking in the area of Bloomington and Dubuque streets at 11:28 p.m. when they were approached by three men who asked to use the victim's phone. When the victim handed one of the suspects the phone, the suspect took off running. Another suspect grabbed the victim's laptop and took off.

The three suspects were described as black men. One was 6'1", wearing a gray stop and red pants. The second suspect was described as the same height, wearing a dark-colored shirt. The third suspect was described as taller than the other two and wearing a black shirt or coat. The victim was not injured during the robbery.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of these suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS.
