Iowa City Police Investigate Early Morning Robbery
IOWA CITY, Iowa - Iowa City Police are looking for a man they say entered a gas station and demanded money at gunpoint early Thursday morning.
Officials responded to a report of an armed robbery at Suburban BP at 1905 Keokuk St. around 2:23 a.m. According to a news release, the suspect pointed a handgun at the employee, leaned over the counter and demanded cash from the register. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction, police said.
Officers flooded the area in an attempt to locate the suspect, but were unsuccessful. The employee was not injured. Officials are not releasing information regarding what was taken.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5 foot 6-8 inches tall with a slender builder. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket or sweatshirt, dark pants, a dark colored hair net on his head and additional covering over his nose and mouth, authorities said.

All calls are held in confidence and anonymity is guaranteed. Individuals providing information do not have to reveal their identity to collect a reward.
