IOWA CITY, Iowa -- An Iowa City man is accused of stalking another woman.

According to Iowa City police, 58-year-old Nelson Francisco Andino Flores was arrested in 2009 for domestic assault causing injury. Flores was ordered to stay away from the victim, but has allegedly violated the no-contact order on multiple occasions and threatened to hurt the woman again.

Police said between October 2013 and December, Flores followed the woman twice in his vehicle, confronted her outside of her children's dentist office, wrote two threatening and obscene letters, talked her 11-year-old son into getting into his car after school and, on one occasion, knocked on her window and fled.

Police said the woman has expressed concern for herself and her children to police in the past and is also concerned for her mother in Guatemala, who Flores allegedly threatened to hurt if his actions were reported to police.

Flores has been arrested and faces one count of stalking - second offense, a class D felony.
