CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A Cedar Rapids man and his roommate are both without a home after a fire destroyed their mobile home early Tuesday morning.

Officials said flames were coming out of the back of a mobile home at Hideaway Manor when they arrived on scene just before 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Crews battled the flames at the home of 51-yearold Shawn Meyocks in the 700 block of 41st Drive SW until 1:30 a.m. No one was injured in the fire. Fire officials say Meyocks roommate ran away while Meyocks went to a neighboring unit to call for 911.

The two mobile homes on either side were evacuated for about 30 minutes as a precaution. Firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
