CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - All the birds around Ellis Park know it's finally time for spring. While the calendar marked the season long ago, this weekend proves the weather is changing toward a warmer trend, at least for now.

"It's nice to look outside and see the sunshine and it kind of calls you out," said Annie Brandt of Cedar Rapids. She took her dog Trooper out for a long Sunday morning walk.

The Pecks of Cedar Rapids made fishing a family outing. Even if temperatures we're quite as warm as eight year old Siara would've liked.

"We're just going fishing hopefully catching some fish because its not even warm outside," said Siara Peck.

"It gets us out of the house. Everybody gets along a little bit better...cooped up all winter long...it's fun," said John Peck.

You can see trees just starting to bud. A true sign of spring. Until then, Eastern Iowans hope to soak up some decent spring weather as long as they can.
