Des Moines Man Recovering After Being Shot Several Times
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Police say a Des Moines man was shot several times while walking in the Mondamin Presidential neighborhood.
The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of 13th Street and College Avenue.
The Des Moines Register reports that the 43-year-old man is in stable condition after being treated for gunshot wounds to his left leg and lower back. Police say the man did not see the shooter.
Des Moines television station KCCI reports that police are crediting a Good Samaritan with saving the man's life. A passer-by who spotted the victim rushed him to an area hospital.
