CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - This weekend the National Czech and Slovak Museum in Cedar Rapids takes another step towards post flood recovery. One year after the museum reopened it's doors, it opens their new permanent exhibit titled "Faces of Freedom: The Czech and Slovak Journey".
Friday night there will be a private reception with the exhibit opening to the public Saturday morning. The official ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 9:30am.
The exhibit took three years to plan and three months to build. It's located in the new 7,000 square foot addition that was built following the flood. It's larger than the pre-flood permanent exhibit, includes state of the art technology, and features a number of interactive exhibits.
