CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Police have arrested a Cedar Rapids man accused of stealing more than $15,000 worth of jewelry.
27-year-old Jayson Law of Cedar Rapids is charged with theft. On Feb. 19, workers at Rogers Jewelers in Westdale Mall reported someone ran off with five pair of earrings. Witnesses say he asked to see them outside the display case, grabbed some of them and ran away.
Police also connected Law to a similar theft last month at Helzberg Diamonds in Cedar Rapids. Police say he stole three diamond bracelets valued at nearly $4,500.
Law remains in the Linn County Jail.
