CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Police are searching for answers after shots rang out in a Cedar Rapids neighborhood.

Witnesses said they heard four or five shots and saw an SUV speeding away from the scene. Officers stopped the vehicle nearby.

Those inside say a group of four black males ran towards the vehicle and one fired a hand gun. The occupants told police they didn't know why they were being fired at.

Officers said no one has reported any injuries or property damage.

Cedar Rapid Police confirm they're also investigating a report of shots fired in the 1800 block of A Avenue Northeast. That happened just after 4:00 this morning. Officers said no injuries were reported in that situation, either.
