Cedar Rapids Men Facing Charges After Fleeing

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A 19-year-old Cedar Rapids man, who was shot in the hip last summer, faces criminal charges after authorities say he was found hiding in the bathroom of a southwest Cedar Rapids apartment Monday evening.

Andre M. Kearney, along with 19-year-olds Markell Hamilton and Dante J. Glinn, are accused of attempting to break and enter a home at 3815 First Ave. SW. A criminal complaint said they had intended to commit a theft. Officials claim when they arrived on the scene, the three men ran from them. Hamilton was arrested after a short foot chase, police said. Kearney and Glinn were found hiding in the bathroom of an apartment at 2133 Westdale Drive SW.

Kearney and Glinn are charged with third-degree attempted burglary, criminal trespass and interference with official acts. Hamilton was charged with third-degree attempted burglary and interference with official acts.
