OSKALOOSA, Iowa (AP) - Authorities in southern Iowa continue to investigate a collision between a vehicle and tractor that caused two teenagers to be airlifted to area hospitals.

The Ottumwa Courier reports a 17-year-old Knoxville teenager was driving Tuesday on Highway 163 near Oskaloosa when his Toyota Camry hit the back of a John Deere tractor pulling a field planter. The driver of the tractor, Randal DeJong, was not seriously hurt.

The teenage driver's name has not been released. He and 18-year-old Derek Springer, of Bussey, were both injured and airlifted to hospitals in Iowa City and Des Moines. It's unclear if Springer was a passenger in the Toyota. Details about the teenagers' conditions were not available.
