Iowa City Drowning Victim Identified

IOWA CITY, Iowa - A body has been recovered from the Iowa River in Iowa City.
Police were called to the Highway 6 bridge late Wednesday morning for a person in the water. Shortly before noon, authorities pulled a body to the shore directly below the bridge.
The victim was identified Wednesday afternoon as Perry John Graham, 54.
Multiple boats were called to the scene to assist in the brief search.
Iowa City police sergeant Denise Brotherton said it appears the Graham died after accidentally drowning in the river. Authorities said Graham had fallen into the river.
Graham was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. An autopsy is pending.
